ABOUT US
Dave Blancett started his career in the recreational marine industry in 1975. He had been a boat owner for several years when he took his first marine related job as a boat cleaner for a sailing club. He quickly decided he liked the boat business and became a sailing instructor in Marina del Rey, California. He used his USCG captains licenses to run charters to Catalina Island and to operate the Marina del Rey 100 passenger sightseeing boat.
While selling boats, he also doubled as a delivery captain to deliver the boats to various ports on the West Coast.
Dave was the national sales manager for Morgan Yachts in the late 1970s and gained a lot of experience in the business relationships between yacht manufacturers and dealers.
In 1984, Dave began his career in the yacht finance business working for Horizon Creditcorp. Over the next 20 years, he developed finance programs for two major financial institutions. Serving as president of the National Marine Bankers Association from 1992 – 1994, he played a key role in the elimination of the Luxury Tax.
Dave has a long term, unique experience base. He has owned power and sail boats, sold boats as a boat dealer and yacht broker, worked with a national yacht manufacturer, designed and initiated yacht finance programs, and bought and sold yacht loan portfolios. Finally, for the last four years, Dave has dedicated himself to helping yacht buyers obtain financing and insurance policies with a minimum of stress, time and effort.
His theme is “Nobody should buy a boat and increase the stress in their life.”
Let Dave help you structure the financial aspects of buying your boat.
